MK Personal Collection Rare Rolex Steel "BIG Red" Daytona Cosmograph Ref 6265/39 Circa 1981. This is a rare Rolex Steel "BIG Red" Daytona Cosmograph Ref 6265/39, Circa 1981. This fine men's steel Rolex Daytona Cosmograph with three-body construction case and screwed-down case back, buttons and crown Ref 6265 between the lugs and 6239 on the case back Serial #5.643.956. It measures 45mm x 42mm including the crown. The watch is missing the crown and stem. The watch features a tachometer graduation on the steel bezel to 200 units per hour, bi-colored original black and silver "Panda" dial with applied steel bâton indexes, luminous dots, outer minute/seconds track and subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers with luminous steel "bâton" hands, Rolex Cal. 727 (with unusual Serial #5319 next to caliber) rhodium plated 17 jewel movement with straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 3 positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, microstella regulating screws. The dial, case and movement are signed and all original unrestored condition. A legendary reference from the lineage of Rolex Daytonas, the reference 6265 was produced from 1971 to 1987. Immediately recognizable is the "Big Red" Daytona logo residing on the upper edge of the 6 o'clock register, hence gaining its nickname. Bearing the 5 million series case number , featuring the correct gapless "DAYTONA" font, bezel, crown and the correct 78350 bracelet.
