MK Personal Collection The present lot is part of a larger privately held collection and is intended for exhibition purposes only. Rare 18K Rose Gold Vacheron & Constantin Triple Date Calendar Wristwatch Reference 4240 Circa 1948. The watch features a two piece circular 18K rose gold case signed on the inside back Vacheron & Constantine No 300.081. It has applied tear drop lugs with the fluted sides measuring 35mm without the crown x 45mm lug to lug. The case shows strong Swiss Hallmarks and it has a high grade Swiss Cal V485A Vacheron & Constantine nickel plated 17 jewel movement with monometallic balance and precision regulator that is in running condition. It is topped with a cream painted dial with applied gilt quarter Roman numerals with facetted hour marks, outer calendar chapter with concentric blued steel hand, centered with apertures for day-date. As you can see from the photos the watch is in overall excellent condition. This model features a rare 18K rose gold case. The reference 4240, manufactured by Vacheron Constantin, was available with or without moon phase display. The reference was very popular during the 1940s and 50s that it was re-launched by Vacheron Constantin in 2017.
