Attributed to the pioneering collaboration of Izabel Coles and Beth Benton Sutherland—active from the late 1920s through the mid-1960s—this piece reflects their mastery in portrait carving and high design. Coles, a Tiffany alum under Meta Overbeck and George Kunz, and Sutherland, trained by Italian master Ottavio Negri, were celebrated contributors to the American Arts & Crafts movement, with works exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
