Estate Rare Large 1981 New York Yankees American League Championship Ring Presented to Crown. The ring is the first of its kind to reach the hobby's major auction block since Goose Gossage's commanded just short of $17,000 in 2013. This is one of only two authentic examples to appear in the 21st Century. Real diamonds form the classic "NY" logo on the ring face. They are set into a large blue stone encircled by the words "Yankees American League Champions." Left shank provides a remarkably detailed Yankee Stadium in miniature, framed by the year "1981" and the word "Tradition." Right shank offers the bat and hat team logo between "CROWN" and "Pride." Interior band is stamped "Balfour 10K" and measures to a size nine (9). Proud wear is evident, but the ring still presents very well. Weight is thirty grams (30g.).
