MK Personal Collection Jumbo Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Ref 5402-3HH Wristwatch No 234 Circa 1978. First Series in 18k yellow gold, Ref. 5042, Serial #174.311. The watch features a large octagonal 18K yellow gold case with fitted screws. It is attached to an integrated 18K yellow gold brick link bracelet that measures 8" long. The watch has a high grade Swiss A/P Automatic Cal. 2121 movement that is in good running condition. It is topped with a textured gun metal grey painted dial, applied luminous baton numerals, luminous hands, sweep center seconds, window for date, tonneau-shaped water-resistant-type case, octagonal screwed bezel, back secured by eight screws, 18K gold Audemars Piguet bracelet and white gold deployment clasp. The watch is in overall good condition. It is accompanied with the original fitted box and papers and tag! It is dated 1978. The yellow gold 5402’s were only produced from 1978 to approximately the mid ’80s with roughly 750 pieces numbered on the back in sequential order. This one has a low case number "234". It has the original case size of 39mm and it runs on the famous caliber 2121, which was based on Jaeger-LeCoultre’s ultrathin caliber 920. This Royal Oak has the original industrial shape and details and the beautiful, dark grey tapissetrie dial.
