Patek Philippe Oversized Calatrava 18k Pink Gold Wristwatch Ref 570 Circa 1941/2. This very fine and rare men's oversized Patek Philippe Calatrava wrist watch is in 18K pink gold and it measures 35mm wide without the crown x 44mm lug to lug. It has a three-body case construction with a flat bezel and concave lugs (Serial #297,XXX). The watch has a super rare pink dial with applied pink gold stick indexes and Art Deco numerals with subsidiary seconds and pink gold "bâton" hands (refreshed) 12''' rhodium-plated movement with "fausses côtes" decoration and 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, Breguet balance-spring, micrometer regulator Serial # 922,XXX. Reference 570, nicknamed "Calatravone" (Italian for large Calatrava), has been a favorite amongst collectors thanks to its large case, flat bezel and vivid modernist design. Introduced in 1938, the iconic reference 570, which is a larger version of Patek Philippe’s reference 96, was manufactured with both subsidiary and center seconds configurations in stainless steel, yellow, white and pink gold, and platinum cases. The present example from the first series houses the caliber 12’’’120, whilst the second series used the caliber 12’’’400, and the last series used an antimagnetic movement - the caliber 27 AM 400.
