MK Personal Collection The present lot is part of a larger privately held collection and is intended for exhibition purposes only. Super Rare Gilt Underline Dial Rolex Submariner Ref 5513 Pointed Crown Wristwatch Circa 1963. This is one of the rarest Rolex watches made. It features a Submariner Ref 5513 with pointed crown guards Serial # 1.011,564 Ref 5513 stamped on inside back 5513 III.63. It features a Cal. 1530, rhodium-plated, "oeil-de-perdrix" decoration Rolex movement with 26 jewels. It has a straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures and five positions, shock-absorber, self-compensating free-spring Breguet balance-spring and microstella regulating screws that is in running condition. The watch does need an overhaul and crown adjustment. It is topped with a rare and exotic original black glossy dial with gold (gild) coated lettering which makes it even more rare, the unusual underline. It has a round, triangular and bâton indexes, outer minute divisions. The dial is outrageous and the watch is all original. The Rolex Submariner reference 5513 was introduced in 1962 and its production was carried on for 28 years, making it one of the longest-lasting Submariner references in Rolex history. The 5513 was retailed alongside its sister reference 5512, a Chronometer certified 4-line Submariner introduced in 1959. The reference 5513 was progressively improved over the course of its life, starting with matte dials and transitioning to glossy dials.
