MK Personal Collection - Wakmann/Lemania Cal 817 Chronograph Wristwatch Circa 1970s. The watch features a large three piece stainless steel waterproof case that measures 48mm x 40mm without the crown. (Reference # 817 Serial # 2.801.003). The watch is topped with an original bidirectional "ghost" bezel, two tone original dial with outer telemetry and matching orange center sweep and register hands. It has a high grade Swiss 17-jewel Lemania 1872 manual-wind movement that is in good running condition. As you can see from the photos the watch is in overall excellent condition. Wakmann Watch Company was founded in New York by Mr. Icho Wakmann in 1946. Wakmann was an importer and manufacturer of watches. Most notably, Wakmann was one of the main importers for Breitling. The present chronograph features a large 40mm case, black and white dial with orange accents giving this watch a sporty aesthetic.
